Nicky’s call
In that stage of his life, Richie was using drugs… and by that time he received a call from Nicky Cruz. Nicky was an evangelist. This call led Richie to his conversion to the faith. But there was a misunderstanding caused by some pictures taken during the ceremony and Bobby was included in this conversion too. But Bobby actually was not converted.
Richie´s conversion to faith created a situation that Bobby did not like too much. Bobby felt how they passed to be considered the Kings of Salsa to the Clowns of Salsa. Richie betrayed their agreement to avoid religious or politic topics on their songs.
The break between Richie and Bobby
By that time Bobby did not believe in God. This situation finished into a break between Richie and Bobby. Bobby made Richie to choose between salsa and religion. Richie chose religion.
After some time following separate paths, the public was claiming Richie to come back. Finally Richie came back and they played together again. After that, Richie started to change his way of thinking and acting. In a way that Bobby disapproved.
Bobby´s vision
One night, Bobby was watching TV and he felt how in his mind a thought started to grow telling him “Richie is ok and you are not…“
This thought filled Bobby with fear. This fear took Bobby back to his childhood, when he lived some supernatural incidents. Those incidents happened while he was with his aunts who used to practice spiritism.
During this incidents Bobby used to scream in the middle of the night. This happened until one his aunts solaced him, telling him that those spirits were the protector spirits. That those spirits came to protect him, and he must pray for them.
Bobby thought then that the protector spirits were back…
